Tuesday, April 30th: Day At the Legislature
On Tuesday, April 30th a delegation of members of the Nevada Sustainable Energy Coalition (NSEC) will travel to Carson City to meet with key policy makers regarding energy policies being addressed in the 2013 Legislative Session. The goal of the delegation's visit is to give state policymakers valuable information regarding existing and potential policies that will directly affect economic development in the Silver State.
The common agenda platform represents a 3 prong strategy to provide both short-term incentives and long-term sustainable growth for our state:
- Item One - Remodeling & Retrofitting
- Item Two - Sustainable Best Practices
- Item Three - Incentive Programs
A white paper explaining the importance of the above 3 tenets has been delivered to legislators as well as the Governor, Lieutenant Governor and the Director of the State Energy Office in advance of the meeting on the 30th. Also delivered to these policy makers was a packet containing 2 supporting reports:
- McKinsey & Company: Unlocking Energy Efficiency in the US Economy
- USGBC Market Brief: A Green Economy is a Growth Economy
We thank our delegation for their willingness to represent NSEC in Carson City and for taking time out of your busy schedules for this important trip. Good Luck and we look forward to updating everyone very soon regarding the outcomes of the trip!
